What's the difference between reflective and
transflective display?
Reflective is front lit active matrix display
viewable by utilizing internal or external light source, ideal
for indoor or outdoor use. Reflective is front lit active
matrix display viewable by utilizing internal or external
light source, ideal for indoor or outdoor use. The rear
polarizer of a reflective display includes a diffuse
reflector. This layer reflects polarized ambient light that
has entered the front of the display back trough the LCD cell.
Reflective displays require ambient light to be seen.
Reflective displays exhibit high brightness, excellent
contrast (14:1), and wide viewing angles. iPAQ Pocket PCs
using the reflective LCD's are front lit.
The transflective display technology combines
transmissive and reflective technologies with higher contrast
and color saturation providing crisper images and clearer
text.
Transflective utilizes internal or external light
source. Transmissive displays have a clear polarizer on the
front and the back. The display depends on light coming
through from the back of the display toward the user.
Reflective displays reflect polarized ambient light that has
entered the front of the display back trough the LCD cell. The
benefits are crisper images, and clearer text with rich color
saturation.

| Intel® xScale Processor |
Why
did HP choose to use the X-Scale processor?
The
XScale processor is the latest processor developed for the
Pocket PC by Intel. The 200Mhz PXA250 processor is the latest
processor technology in delivering advance processing power in
a Pocket PC.
There doesn't appear to
be a noticeable difference between Intel StrongARM-based
devices and new products using the Intel PXA2xx processor. Why
is that?
The Intel PXA250 is one of the first in a
family of processors based on the Intel XScale technology. As
with any new processor, there are always improvements and
optimizations that are made to get the most out of the
processor. We're working with Intel in identifying areas for
improvement; for example we're working closely with Intel to
optimize the iPAQ for certain memory intensive applications.
We're assisting Intel in evangelizing the need for software
developers to optimize their applications to the XScale
processor.

How
much nonviolatile memory space (iPAQ File Store) is available?
The h1910 features 16MB NAND Flash, which is not
user accessible. Files can be stored and transferred using SD
memory cards via the built-in SD memory slot.

between the h1910 and previous iPAQ series (h3600, h3700,
h3800, h3900)?
The h1910 NAND Flash offers a lower
cost memory architecture, thus passing these savings on to the

Flash memory technology offers execute-in-place, allowing the
operating system and applications to run directly from the
nonviolatile memory space.
|
| RAM |
What
